Bray, Stephen
Stephen Bray, DDS, BDS (Hons. Med.), MFDS RCPSG, MFDS RCSEd, has practised Dental Sleep Medicine since 1999. Following a Fellowship in Craniomandibular Orthopaedics (FICCMO) in Oregon and a Fellowship in Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine at Tufts University, Boston, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Behavioural Sleep Medicine under Professor Colin Espie at the University of Glasgow.. He joined the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine in its founding year, 2010, and is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine.
He has a longstanding interest in sleep health awareness, interdisciplinary education and the development of collaborative care pathways. In 2020, he founded an association to connect dental and behavioural sleep medicine providers. As its scope and interdisciplinary involvement grew, the initiative evolved into The Sleep Society in 2025, an international platform bringing together professionals, researchers, educators, organizations and industry from across the many disciplines involved in sleep health.
The Sleep Society promotes communication and collaboration across sleep-related disciplines, including behavioural sleep medicine, and supports professional connections, education, research, appropriate referral pathways and greater public awareness of sleep health, it also supports the public health and safety initiative SleepSafeCanada.
